Tazzie placed 2nd in the shooting dog stake at the Mortlach Field Trial May 1st, 2011. Tazzie was 2nd in the Open Shooting Dog at the Stoughton field trial in May. The next day she won the Amateur Shooting Dog. At the Ardath Field Trial (also in May) she won the Open Shooting Dog. The next day she won the Amateur, although a technicality took this win away from her (owner mixed up his own dogs and were run in wrong braces). Tazzie is 10 years old and semi-retired, but still has her great bird dog abilities.

Ria won the Junior Puppy Class at her first dog show. Ria placed 4th in the puppy stake at the Inland Empire Brittany trial, and placed 2nd in the Open Puppy stake at the Washington Brittany Club spring 2011 field trials. Ria won the 12 dog entry Open Puppy stake at the German Shorthair Pointer Field Trial Club of Alberta's spring 2011 trial. Ria placed 4th out of 12 puppies at the Brittany Spaniel Club of Canada trial. She not only ran the entire course at extreme range, she pointed a bird very solidly for a couple of minutes. Ria placed 4th in the Open Puppy (16 entries) at the Calgary Pointing Dog spring 2011 trial. Not only can she run and point birds, she is a real sweetheart. Ria has one point to her show championship, won under judge Sharon Derrick at the Southwest Saskatchewan Kennel and Obebience club shows. We sold Ria to a hunting home last summer where she will be able to do what Brittanys like to do best.

![]() Meg has had a very good career in American Field sponsored field trials held on wild birds with multi-course Canadian prairie venues. At the Mortlach trials April 24/25, 2010, Meg placed 2nd in the Amateur Shooting Dog and 3rd in the Open Shooting Dog. She placed 3rd in the Open Shooting Dog at the Alberta Field Trial on May 1st. The next day she placed 2nd in another shooting dog stake at the same trial. Meg placed 3rd in the Open Shooting Dog on September 18 at the trial in Consort Alberta. Meg placed 3rd to her sister Tazzie's 2nd place finish at the Mortlach Field Trial May 1st, 2011, not bad for a pair of 10 year olds. Meg placed 3rd in the Amateur Shooting Dog Stake at the Edmonton Pointing Dog trial in late May 2011.

Kidd started his show career at the Calgary Kennel and Obedience Club in March 2010. He got Best of Breed all three days, for 1 point each day. He picked up another point at Red Deer Kennel Club by going Winners Dog under James Reynolds on April 2nd. Kidd earned his first leg to his Field Dog Junior title in his first attempt, with a score of 87 on May 2nd at the age of 9 months. Kidd placed 3rd in the Open Puppy stake at the Brittany Spaniel Club of Canada trial in May 2010. Kidd will be competing in field trials and tests this spring, as well as more shows. In his 2nd attempt for his Field Dog Junior title, Kidd pointed 4 birds with advanced manners for a score of 95 and another leg. In his third attempt he got the final leg to complete his Field Dog Junior title at 10 months of age. Kidd competed at the Evelyn Kenny Kennel and Obedience Club shows in July. The first two days, he took Winner's Dog and Best Opposite Sex, for 1 point each day. The third day under Judge David Strachen, he went all the way to Best of Breed over a special for a 3 point major. Kidd finished his championship with another Best of Breed win at the Red Deer Kennel and Obedience Club shows in November of 2010, under judge Patricia Craig Trotter. At the fall 2010 German Shorthair Pointer Club of Alberta field trial, Kidd took 2nd in both the Open Puppy and the Open Derby. He had a nearly broke find in the derby. Kidd was 2nd in the Open Derby at the Brittany Spaniel Club of Canada spring 2011 trial. Diefenbaker went winner's bitch and best opposite sex for her first two points toward her championship at the Alberta Kennel Club shows on February 6, 2010 under judge Christine Hubbell. Diefenbaker won the Open Puppy stake at the Music City Brittany Club (Tennessee) in March 2010. The following weekend, she placed 4th in the Open Puppy at the Buckeye Brittany Club in Ohio. The same day, she was 4th in the Amateur Walking Derby. The next day, she placed 3rd in the Amateur Walking puppy stake. Dief went Reserve winners at two out of three shows (all majors) put on by the Red Deer Kennel Club including the Brittany Spaniel Club of Canada's 2010 booster show. At the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Alberta, April 2010 spring trial, Diefenbaker placed 2nd in the derby with 5 finds on pheasants. Diefenbaker is a very quiet and calm dog, and does not get too excited about the show ring. Diefenbaker picked up 2 points by going Best of Winners at the Portage le Prairie show in Manitoba under Polly Smith. On July 16th at the Evelyn Kenny Kennel and Obedience Club shows near Calgary, Alberta, Diefenbaker went Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed over a special for a 3 point major under Australian judge Guy Spagnola. Diefenbaker added 2 more Reserve Winners awards in February. She yawned her way to runner up once again....Diefenbaker was 3rd in a very strong open derby stake with a good race and many birds found, at the German Shorthair Pointer Field Club of Alberta spring 2011 trial. Diefenbaker placed 2nd in the Open Derby (16 entries) at the Calgary Pointing Dog Club field trial May 22, 2011 with 5 finds and a wide race, and pointed a 6th bird after time. Diefenbaker was reserve winners bitch twice at the Fort Garry Dog Shows. Diefenbaker completed her show championship on Saturday July23/2011. She recieved single point winner's bitch at 5 shows. This gives her insurance points as well. Judges were Gary Allen, Cec Ringstrom, Butch McDonald (pictured), Letia Bett, and Charles Bett. Dief will never appear in a show ring again, we promised her. Thanks to Lee Magnuson and Arwen Dabb for helping me out this weekend when I could not go in the ring with her myself. Diefenbaker is now in Maine with Ben Lorenson, training for future adult stakes.

Tempo was Best Puppy in Breed at the Alberta Kennel Club shows July 30, handled by Penny Lewis and judged by Harry O'Donohue. Tempo made his debut in field trials at the Montana Brittany Club, placing 3rd out of 17 puppies. He also placed 3rd out of 14 Open puppies at the Calgary Pointing Dog fall 2011 trial. Tempo will continue his field trial career, and will be in the show ring when he is more mature.

Chipper was Best Puppy in Breed at the Alberta Kennel Club show August 2nd/08 under Robert Vandiver. The next day, he went Best of Winners as well as Best puppy in breed under Dana Cline for his first points at the ripe old age of 6 months, 5 days of age! Chipper took Winner's Dog all three days at Wheat City Kennel Club shows, and was Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Breed two of those days. That brings him another 5 points to his championship from the puppy classes. On March 7th/09, Chipper completed his championship at the Prince Albert Shows. He was 13 months of age at the time. Chipper was shown as a special at Regina Kennel Club shows in May and took the breed at all of the shows. Chipper made the final cut for Best of Breed at the B.S.C.C. National Specialty show. The next day, he qualified for his first leg to his C.D. with a score of 186. In January, 2010, Chipper competed in the Regina Kennel and Obedience Club trials, earning three legs to his C.D. which he finished. He scored 193 to win his Novice B class all three trials, and his bonus leg also earned him a High Scoring Dog in Trial. As well, he earned the top score for a dog owned by a R.K.& O.C. member, as well as an award for the youngest qualifying dog. Chipper will be shown, hunted and obedience trialed at the Open level once his training is complete. Chipper was Best Opposite Sex at the Red Deer Kennel Club under James Reynolds on April 2nd/10. On April 4th/10, he won Best of Breed under Leslie Rogers. At the Regina Kennel Club shows, in May, Chipper was pulled out in the group on Friday. On Saturday he was again pulled, and this time he placed group 3rd under judge Ray Smith.. Chipper took Best of Breed all three days at the Portage le Prairie shows the weekend of July 2-4, 2010. He got pulled in the group on Sunday. Chipper ended up as the number 3# ranked Brittany in Canada for 2010. Chipper was Best of Breed under Darla Hecke at the Evelyn Kenney Kennel and Obedience Club Feb. 4th, 2011. He added two Best Opposite Sex awards the following two days. Chipper placed 4th in the sporting group three days in a row at the Prince Albert dog shows in March 2011. The judges involved were Guy Jeavons, Sue Badick, and Avery Gaudin. At the Hub City Kennel Club shows in Saskatoon May 2011, Chipper won the breed all three days. Judges were Neil Graves, Leslie Rogers, and Edna Perks. He was pulled in the group one day under Neil Graves. Chipper is unofficially the Number 5# Brittany in Canadian shows at the present time. Chipper was Best Opposite Sex under Joy Lynn Huntley at the Fort Garry Dog show May 27. On May 28, Chip took a Best of Breed under Allan Bennett. On May 29, he repeated this win under judge Linda Kraft. Chipper took Best of Breed all 6 shows at the Southwest Saskatchewan Kennel and Obedience Club events in July. He won under judges Sharon Derrick, Gary Allen, Cec Ringstrom, Butch McDonald, Letitia Bett, and Charles Bett. Chipper also had his first girlfriend that weekend. We ended up with a male puppy sired by Chipper and out of Charm born in September. Chipper will be spending his falls as usual hunting for Carl. Chipper is a very good little bird dog. Chipper is a very happy dog in the ring! Chipper earned the CGC degree the end of October, which stands for Canine Good Citizen.

In 2006, Lester won the Amateur All Age stake at NeoSho Valley in the spring and placed 4th out of 60 entries in the fall Open All Age stake. Lester finished his Amateur title before his fourth birthday. Lester was 2nd in the 1 hour Open All Age stake at the Midwest Brittany Club in Kansas in November of 2006, which qualifies him for the 2007 National open championship and the 2007 National Amateur Championship. Lester ran in the National Amateur in 2005 and the 2006 National Amateur. Spring 2007, Missouri Brittany Club, Lester places 3rd in the Amateur All Age. Lester finished his field championship Easter '07 weekend at Iowa Brittany Club with a 5 point win (39 dogs) of the Open All Age Stake! Ten days later, Lester wins the Nebraska Championship (one hour heats) over 40 starters. Lester won the Region 17 Amateur All Age Championship in October 2007 in outstanding fashion. Kenny and Lester retired the R.C. Mannen trophy by winning the Neo Sho valley amateur all age three times. Kenny trained and handled Lester himself...Quite a feat! For the fall of 2007, Lester will be run by professional trainer, Jim John of Yates Center. Kansas. Jimmy and Lester were posted at the 2007 National championship! Lester was Runner up Champion at the Texas Open Championship, February 2008! He also placed 3rd in the Midwest all age one hour stake and qualified for both the open and amateur championship in Boonville (Kenny handled him). Kenny handled Lester to first place in the Iowa spring trial Amateur All Age with 18 starters! Lester was 3rd place at the Region 19 Amateur All Age championship, which was his 10th one hour placement. Lester was runner up at the 2008 Region 17 Amateur All Age Championship. Lester was posted in the 2008 National Amateur Championship at Booneville. Lester placed 4th in the American Brittany Club National Open All Age Championship, handled by Jimmy John, in 2008. Lester was third place in the Prairie States Open All Age Championship in March of 2009. Lester placed 4th out of 52 dogs at the South Kansas Brittany spring trial. Lester and Kenny won the 2009 International Amateur All Age with a lot of style. Lester repeated his 2007 win of the Nebraska Championship in April of 2009, handled by Jim John! Lester placed 3rd out of 66 starters at the American Brittany Chicken Classic in Bassett, Nebraska in September of 2009. For the third year in a row, Lester made the postings at the ABC Nationals by being posted in the National Amateur championships. Lester is one of the leading dogs in the Purina All Age dog of the year competition. Lester ended up being number 4# in the Purina dog of the year competition for 2009. Lester and Kenny repeated the International Amateur All Age Championship win in 2010. At the Iowa Brittany Club spring 2010 trial Lester placed 2nd in the 31 dog Open All Age with Jim John handling him. At the same trial, Lester won the Amateur All Age with Kenny handling him. Lester won the Mid America Championship the end of April, which is the sixth one hour championship he has won. Lester was Runner Up in the Region 19 Amateur All Age championship, September 2010, with 4 finds (sharptail, pheasant, and quail) and a huge forward race. Two weeks later, Lester was Runner Up at the Region 17 Amateur All Age Championships in Kansas. Lester started out 2011 by getting 3rd place in the Texas Open championship. Then he got Runner Up in the Prairie States Amateur All Age Championship. At the Southern Kansas Brittany Club spring trial he scored two blue ribbons. He won the 39 dog Open All Age stake with Jimmy handling, then won the 20 dog Amateur All Age for Kenny. For the third year in a row, Lester won the International Amateur All Age championship....his 7th Championship win. Lester placed 4th in the Amateur All Age at the Iowa Brittany Club trial April 2011. Lester placed 4th in the 41 entry Mid America Championship also in April for his 4th one hour stake placement this spring. Lester won the Kansas Open All Age Championship in October 2011 for his 8th one hour win, handled by Jim John. Lester was 1st place in the 16 dog Amateur All Age stake at the Hawkeye Brittany club fall of 2011.

Ned has a second placement and a third placement in field trials at a tender age, with more expected in the future. Ned made his show ring debut on Nov. 4/06 and came away with a 3 point major and a Best of Breed win. Not bad for a 7 month old puppy. Ned finished his championship with three majors, (two of them Best of Breed wins) with his final win a major from highly respected judge Dorothy MacDonald. Ned won the Open Puppy Stake at the GSP of Alberta spring field trial so now has his puppy points. Ned won the Derby at Big Country field trials on Aug. 18, held under American Field rules. Ned won the Open Derby and placed 2nd in the Open puppy at the Calgary Pointing Dog Club trial, fall of 2007. Ned won the Open Puppy at the Federation trials on Labour Day weekend. Ned scored a double win, with first in both the puppy and the derby at the GSP of Alberta fall trial Ned placed 2nd in the derby at the GSP club of Alberta's spring trial, his first outing for 2008. Ned won the derby at the Calgary Pointing Dog Club in outstanding style on May10th, 2008. Ned has two qualifying scores to his Field Dog Junior titles in tests. Ned's first outing as an adult dog in the spring on 2009, sees him place 2nd in the Open Shooting Dog at the Calgary Pointing Dog Club. Ned placed 2nd in the Amateur Shooting Dog at the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Alberta's fall trial. Ned placed 4th in the Open Limited Shooting Dog at the Calgary Pointing Dog Club, in a very competitive stake with many clean performances. Ned needs only a three point open win to become a dual champion ! At Ned's first trial in the United States, he placed 3rd out of 32 dogs at the Sooner Brittany Trial's Open All Age stake, handled by Scott Johnson. Ned placed 4th in the 39 dog Open All Age stake at the Southern Kansas trial March 2011. Ned placed 3rd in the Mo Valley Open All Age fall 2011 trial with 46 starters. Ned placed 4th in the Kansas Open All Age championship, handled by Scott Johnson. Ned placed 2nd out of 32 entries at the Sooner Brittany trial, in the Open All Age stake in October of 2011. The first weekend of November, Ned placed 4th in the one hour Open All Age stake put on by the Midwest Brittany Club in Kansas. Ned won the Open All Age stake at Bluebonnet Brittany Club on November 11, for a 5 point major to his field championship, also qualifying him for the 2012 Brittany Nationals. Val placed 2nd out of 33 dogs in the Open Gun Dog stake at the Montana Brittany Club on August 29th/2010. On September 11, Val won the Open Shooting Dog stake for a 4 point win towards her field championship and dual championship. She displayed style on all her birds, with 2 limb finds and another bird that dropped out of the sky and landed in front of her, as well as running a strong and smart race. The win picture shows judges Tom Doherty, Steve Short and my scout, Kim Brunen, as well as me and Val. Val is one stylish, smart bird dog and you will be hearing more about her now that she is spayed and can run in field trials full time. Frani earned all her AKC puppy and derby points (open and amateur) at an early age, and graduated on to adult competition. Frani at 22 months old made her first adult placement in January by winning 4th out of 28 entries in the Open All Age stake at the California Brittany Club's 2011 spring trial. "Flash" was Best of Breed on March 25, and 26th under judges John Rowton and John Ireland at the Northwinds dog shows, to finish his championship. He added a Best of Breed for a couple of insurance points in May at the Mid-Canada shows in Winnipeg. Flash started his career with a Group 3rd at 7 months. The next day he went Best Puppy in Group.

Waylon placed 3rd in the Open Derby at the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Alberta fall trial with a big race. Waylon spent the summer with Travis Gelhaus in the sand hills of Saskatchewan, and learned how to handle and work wild birds. Waylon placed 4th in the 16 dog entry of the Open Derby at the Calgary Pointing Dog Club May 2011 trial with his usual very wide race and a couple nice finds.

Max and his owner Frank went to their very first field trial on April 24 at the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Alberta and ran as the bye dog in the puppy stake. They came away with the blue ribbon for first place. Max earned the first leg towards his Field Dog Junior title the first weekend in June at the B.S.C.C. field tests. Rufus placed 2nd in the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Alberta's spring 2010 puppy stake handled by Dan Switz. Rufus was also 2nd in the Open Puppy stake at the B.S.C.C. trial in May. Rufus placed 4th in the Open Derby at the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Alberta's fall trial. Rufus put it all together for the last derby stake he was eligible for, and won the 16 dog Open Derby at the Calgary Pointing Dog Club spring trial, with 2 nice points and a good forward race for his handler Dan Switz!

![]() Field Trial Barbie went to her first field trial at 6 months of age. She placed 4th in the Open Puppy at the Anthracite Brittany Club trial. Two weeks later, her first time in the show ring, she placed 3rd out of 13 in the 6-9 month old bitch class Sweepstakes in conjunction with the American Brittany Club National specialty under judge Linda Langford. Later the same day, she won the 6-9 month old bitch class under judge Nancy Simmons at the American Brittany Club National specialty. Barbie has been Reserve Winner's Bitch three times to majors the summer of 2011. Barbie placed 2nd in the Open Derby at the Hudson Valley Brittany Club field trial.

New Champion Kinwashkly Ruby Tuesday is owned by Jodi Miller of Kenly North Carolina. Ruby is sired by FC Blaze's Rambling Mo Man ex Ch. Kinwashkly Crash Test Dummy. Ruby completed her show championship on July 3, 2011 at the Bel Alton show in Maryland, handled by Gina Currier, winning a third major to finish with points to spare. Ruby is well on her way to a dual championship, and now can concentrate on field trials.
